“The atmosphere is one where time is frozen, where stillness is “the next important step to take”, specific to the religions of Eastern space, whose symbols are often used by the artist. Compositional collages that contain biographical references, stances from a positivist objectivity, images of mass culture or references of both modern and medieval art, Eugen first makes a digital drawing which he then follows canonically, pixel-by-pixel in its rendering to the painting medium.”  Horatiu Lipot

Synapse Talks | Redeeming the Time

„How do you explain the concept of time to a deaf man? How would you draw time? Is time real or imagined? Who owns our time and why do we accept it is others?  What is the value of time? If you would forget the year of your birth, would you know your age? Why does it matter how fast time passes? When we do something boring, time passes slowly, so we have the sensation that we lived longer. Is this preferable?  Why is it important to measure time? Is there an eternity? If it is not, then what comes after?” Bernhard Moestl

Host: Bernhard Moestl
Chair in debate: Laurentiu Nita and Horatiu Lipot
Concept and Mise-en-scene: Calin Sas
